After School Riding Program

Our "After School" Program is designed for the kid who loves horses and wants the comprehensive experience of learning to ride and care for them in the barn.  Our after school riders are bused to Riverdale from school each afternoon- where they are met by our staff and divide their time between mounted lessons in the ring and horsemanship lessons in the barn.  As we are firm belivers that kids learn by doing, we give a "hands on" experience with the horses.  Afterschool riders learn to groom and tack their mounts, along with the basics of horse care and proper barn safety.  We love our afterschool riders because they are always full of energy and fun! 

 

At the end of the day, our riders say "goodbye" to staff and their four-legged friends and board the bus to be taken home and released to a parent or guardian.  They leave tired and happy- and full of tales of adventure and new discoveries!
